Baklava is a traditional Turkish desert dating back to the Ottoman Empire Palaces of the 1800's. Overtime it has been admired by other countries and recreated in their kitchens. It is made from very thin sheets of dough which can be difficult to work with. The making of baklava is an artform best attempted only by experts.
Because the quality of the ingredients is so important in achieving this great taste we are very selective when chosing them. The flour we use is a yellow, tough wheat flour from South East Anatolia. The oil we use is from same area, natural and fresh.
